Lodging Kit Company works with Hilton Supply Management to offer the Room In A Box®. Within this agreement, Lodging Kit Company has had the privilege of kitting multiple ground breaking properties including the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. This project detailed a total of 8 floors that were renovated into a total of 344 rooms over a span of 8 years.
We worked with Hilton Supply Management to organize and track the in room operating supplies and equipment with our consignment kitting model, receiving 44 different items per room in and checking them over for shortages and damages. Once all items were documented received in, we moved forward in the kitting of the project into 3 separate kit types, ranging from 3-4 boxes per type. Each kit type was color coded and labeled with the floor, room number, kit type, box number and contents.
This project was then palletized per floor, room number and wing to coordinate with the property on a staged delivery as they were able to accept. Since this project was to deliver to downtown Manhattan, we needed to work closely with the freight carrier and the property to organize the best time to unload, often being 4am to avoid rush-hour in the city.
